Survive the Swarm Heroes Tier List
Starter fighter versus Mage — unnamed kits stay unnamed until GeekOut labels them.
The heroes ranking for Survive the Swarm is short on purpose. Official Roblox copy from GeekOut Studio says you play as heroes from other worlds. Public comments name Mage. Screenshots and the “E ATTACK!” art show a starter sword fighter. That is the evidenced roster. This page is a September 2026 community snapshot, not an official PvP ladder, and it will not invent a twelve-hero chart to look finished.
A hero is the body you walk into the cube swarm with. Weapons still auto-attack. You can still hold several at once with per-weapon levels on the bottom-left bar (wave 22 footage). The kit changes how hard you hit and how fast HP falls from the wave-1 budget of about 100. Grade the body on sustain, clear potential, kite forgiveness, and unlock cost — the same four questions as the Tier List Hub — then pick guns on the weapons ranking.
For buy order and play notes, use best heroes and the Mage page. This list only answers “where does each evidenced body sit today?”
High risk, high damage — Mage
Mage — high damage, high risk, not a free S. Community and creator comments say the kit fights strong and HP drops faster than on the sword fighter. That is a glass-cannon grade, not a “always pick this” grade. If you already kite, dash on Shift or Space, and scoop purple XP without walking through the blue swarm, Mage converts that skill into faster pack deletes. If you still stand in bite range, Mage converts that habit into a shorter run.
Unlock cost is not zero. New players should not buy Mage to skip learning. The Heroes Hub exists so you can read the trade before you spend. Mage staff as a weapon stays community-reported on the weapons list; we have not independently matched it to the Machine Gun wave 76 clip. Do not collapse “Mage body is strong” into “staff is S.”
A blue-coat caster in official wave 22 footage may be Mage-like. We do not treat that unlabeled shot as proof of identity. If studio copy later confirms it, this rank can cite the footage with less hedging. Until then, Mage is a named kit with a documented HP trade, not a screenshot ID.
Low-mid carry, high for learning — starter sword fighter
Starter sword fighter — high for learning, low-mid as a late-game body. This is the default you can test on day one in a 60-player server. Melee range is the weakness: once boomerangs or Machine Gun exist on the bar, the sword is no longer the carry. The body is still honest. You keep the same dash, the same shop TEAM INVINCIBILITY and STUN ALL ENEMIES (30 seconds, 49 currency), the same purple XP, the same Trenchline kite. For beginners, that honesty outranks Mage’s damage, because a dead glass cannon does not clear wave 76.
Keep playing this kit until circling the pack is automatic. Then decide whether Mage’s drain is a tax you can pay. That sequence is also the advice on how to survive and community builds.
Unranked — everyone GeekOut has not named
Unnamed heroes — unranked. “Heroes from other worlds” is a promise of variety, not a datamine. Filling empty slots with invented names would make a prettier table and a worse wiki. When a new kit is labeled in a patch or a new weapons post, it starts here as unranked, then moves after public runs exist.
Do not read unranked as weak. Read it as “we refuse to guess.” If a lobby claims a secret hero is S, ask for a name that matches studio copy. Until that name exists, spend currency on Mage only if you want the documented trade, or keep the starter and invest in weapons and upgrades.
How map and loadout change the grade
Trenchline is the map with a public deep-wave signal, and that signal is a Machine Gun holdout, not a hero DPS test. A starter fighter with Machine Gun level 5 and boomerangs can outlast a Mage who greeded staff levels and skipped HP. The maps guide and loadout checklist matter more than shuffling two names on this page.
Shop panic buttons are kit-agnostic. TEAM INVINCIBILITY will save Mage more often because the health bar is already the weak axis. That does not make Mage low tier; it makes the shop a crutch you should budget, not a personality trait of the hero.
Codes that add currency — codes hub — change how fast you can unlock Mage. They do not change the grade. A free Roblox experience still asks you to kite. If you cannot, no hero rank will help.
Refresh this list after a named-hero patch. Until then the board stays three rows: Mage as high-risk damage, starter as the learning body, unnamed as unnamed. That is the entire honest heroes ranking for September 2026, and the weapons guide will still decide most of the run.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Survive the Swarm on Roblox.
Is Mage S tier in Survive the Swarm?
Mage is high damage and high risk, not a free S. HP drops faster. Read the Mage page before you spend unlock currency.
Why is the starter fighter on a tier list at all?
It is the only free, evidenced body besides Mage. High for learning, low-mid as a late carry. See best heroes for the buy order.
Will you add more heroes to this ranking?
When GeekOut names them. Official copy only promises heroes from other worlds. Unnamed kits stay unranked on this page and on the Heroes Hub.
Does the hero replace Machine Gun or boomerangs?
No. Weapons auto-attack on every kit. Pick guns on the weapons ranking and templates on builds.
Is the wave 22 blue-coat caster Mage?
It may be Mage-like. We do not treat an unlabeled screenshot as a studio ID. Hedging lives on Mage.
Should I buy TEAM INVINCIBILITY because I picked Mage?
Budget it, do not autopilot it. The shop tool costs 49 currency for 30 seconds on any hero. Rank the type on the upgrades list.
